Hi there,
Yesterday we hosted Mara Lezama Espinosa, Governor of Quintana Roo, home to Cancún, the Riviera Maya, and Tulum, at our Orlando offices. It was a genuine honor to welcome her and say, in person, “Madame Governor, welcome to Orlando.” We talked about the future of tourism and how AI can help destinations serve travelers at an entirely different level.
Here’s why I’m sharing that in a product newsletter. The most striking thing about this moment in AI isn’t any single feature, it’s how fast the appetite for it is going global. Twelve months ago these conversations were happening in a handful of tech hubs. Now they’re happening with governments, across borders, in every market that touches the customer.
The companies that treat AI-driven engagement as a local experiment will find themselves competing against ones treating it as global infrastructure. We know which side we intend to be on. Orlando to London to Mexico City, and we’re just getting started. More on where we’re headed below, including where the next AI Happy Hour lands: one of the world’s best bars.
Two-minute read. Let’s go.
Our global push is picking up speed. Yesterday, Governor Lezama joined us at our Orlando offices, alongside Ivan Pliego Moreno, Consul of Mexico in Orlando, and the Orlando Chamber of Commerce, for a conversation about tourism, investment, and the role AI will play in how destinations attract and serve travelers. Our sincere thanks to Scott Matthews and the Orlando Chamber for bringing it together.
We’re also building the team to match the moment. This month we welcomed Tarell Harrison as our Global Head of Sales (read the press release). Tarell has spent his career helping some of the world’s largest enterprises adopt AI to engage customers, with President’s Club recognition across Nuance, PolyAI, and Omilia and deep experience spanning financial services, travel, hospitality, retail, and telecom. His mandate is simple: put autonomous, on-brand engagement in front of enterprise customers wherever they are, in whatever language they speak.
And next stop, Mexico City. On September 6 we’re bringing the AI Happy Hour to Mexico City, the night before the AMDETUR Congress opens. Full venue details land next week, but here’s a hint: we’re reserving space at one of The World’s 50 Best Bars. Then on September 8 in Mexico City, I’ll be speaking on a Congress panel, “From Vision to Execution: Technology, Data and AI in Action,” about how technology and AI move from slide decks to real execution.
If you’ll be at AMDETUR or in Mexico City for the Happy Hour, I’d love to see you there. Request an invite.
Every one of these came from listening. Hit reply and tell me what would move the needle for your business, and there’s a real chance you’ll see it in a future edition. The more you tell us, the faster the roadmap moves.
See you next Wednesday. âš¡
